Book haul and Update: I still haven't read anything since last week

This week I got a two physical books in the mail and a little something from Netgalley. I also received a few DVDs I ordered last week and thought I'd mention a CD which I got a little while ago that I forgot to mention.

FROM SIMON AND SCHUSTER:
Deadly Hemlock
'Deadly Hemlock' by Kathleen Peacock
-A surprise one! And, it looks and sounds very very very exciting. I would have opened it up and read it straight away, only I realised that it's not due to be published until July and I didn't want to spoil it to early.

FROM PAN MACMILLAN:
Winter's Light (Winter Saga, #2)
'Winter's Light' by M.J. Hearle
-I adored 'Winter's Shadow' and can't wait to read this one.

FROM NETGALLEY:

'Ahead of the Game' by Shaun Micallef
-One of the funniest and coolest guys on Australian TV. I haven't followed everything he's done, but I was pretty excited when I saw this (I had no idea that he wrote) and equally excited when my review request was accepted.

I ALSO GOT:

DVDS:
'Black Books' Season 1
-I've already watched the whole 6 episodes included (what a rip-off!) and though that the first three were really entertaining, but that thereon it deteriorated and got sillier and sillier. Not sure that I'd be willing to spend any more money or time on another season.

'The Ultimate Collector's Pack: Cruel intentions 1, 2 & 3'
-I have no idea what these are like, but I seem to enjoy teen movies from the early 00s. I've heard 'Cruel Intentions' is a bit dark, but it was only $15 for the set of three.

'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'
-I was recommended this in grade 11 Maths B (yes, that's how much work we actually did) and still haven't got around to it.

CDS:
'What we Saw from the Cheap Seats' by Regina Spektor
-I'm a bit of a fan. I own all of her albums. I'm not as pleased with this one as I would like to be, but it's still fairly enjoyable.

What did you get in the Mail?

Last week I announced my new employment status (unemployment) and that hopefully I would get more reading done. Quite the opposite has happened. I've been applying for lots of jobs, getting into arguments and feeling really terrible about other things. This Video (and that whole youtube channel) made me feel so much better about everything, opened my eyes a little and gave me some smart advice.

I am really truly hoping to get back into the reading next week, especially now that I have new books to read. I've also got some more ideas for blog posts about reading in general (don't wanna give too much away) that I might post depending on how the reading goes.

My best friend is now in closer reach this weekend/next week. She lives a town away and has come to stay with her parents who live out of town. So there's something positive to look forward too.

Also, how do you like the new 'Update' icon? I made it on Polyvore and saved it to my picture folder in the documents using the 'Snipper' tool.
