Random Haul and Update

I haven't done a book haul in over three weeks and I haven't written a post in 6 days. I have actually been doing stuff though. I have bought a new camera, some other new things, I've changed the background picture for the blog, And I've been reading a little bit. Over the past three weeks I only received one book and I didn't really want to waste your time with it so I thought I might show you some other cool stuff that I got.

Firstly, about the background. I felt bad about using an image that wasn't mine, And, I love painting and drawing so I thought that, that would be the perfect way to create a new background image. I've been thinking a little about creating a new profile picture as well, but haven't quite gotten to that yet. The thing is though, that I didn't want to change my blog too much, because I wanted it to be recognisable. So I used the old image as inspiration for the new one, and changed a few things, and made some things a little more refined. I hope you all like it, because I'm not planning on getting rid of it any time soon.

THE BOOK:

My Dad recently got sent a bunch of old things, and in the boxes was a yellowed copy of 'Lord of the Flies'. I haven't read it before, but I've heard a lot about it, so it seems promising. It's been defaced in a few places with lead pencil, but it's all educational notes, so that doesn't bother me much.

OTHER STUFF:

^ 'Witchetty Grub' lollies. Thought this was so awesome. Taste pretty good too.

^ Here is my order from Lace Affair. I ordered two scarves, the first one is more of a winter one and the second is more for summer. I also ordered a sunglasses case, which is awfully bulky, but does fit my sunglasses nicely.

^My make-up order from Fashion Addict I'm planning on talking(writing) a bit more about these items in a beauty post.

^ I finally received the lip-brushes I bought from ebay.

^ I bought some more nail polish. It's mainly just the cheapy brands.

^ I bought this gift set from the local cheapy shop. It cost me $9.99 for the set. And, yes, I bought it for myself. I really like the Revlon fragrance range. This one is really really nice. It's right up there with coco mademoiselle (i used to have an imitation version), my imitation of Daisy by Marc Jacobs and my imitation of Delicious by DKNY.

^I bought these movies:

-'Mrs Pettigrew Lives For A Day' (I've heard really good things and adore the trailer)
-'School Ties' (It's got some good actors in it)
-'The Classic Collection' (It has 'Doctor Zhivago', 'Gone With The Wind', 'Casablanca' and 'Ben Hur')
-'The Taylor/Dunne Romance Collection' (It has 'The Last Time I Saw Paris', 'Father's Little Dividend', 'Penny Serenade', 'Love Affair' and 'Jane Eyre'. All black and white films)
-'Amelie' (It's french, and it's also all over tumblr)
-'The Great Gatsby' (1974 version) I really liked the book and can't wait to see what Baz does with it, but in the mean time there is this one.

^This is a bit random, because I bought these ages ago, but I thought I would share my collection of 'Marie Antoinette' slippers with you. I call them 'Marie Antoinette slippers, because they remind me an awful lot of some of the shoes that were worn on the movie.

^ What I am currently reading:
-'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky
-'Frankie' Mag
-'In Style' Mag

I took most of these photos with my new camera (pretty much everything except the lollies and artwork). The camera is Fujifilm Finepix JZ100 and I'm pretty happy with it so far. It isn't blurry like my last camera (though I will keep that camera for doing vinatgey blurry photos), and it selects the appropriate mode for you to take the photo.

What a thoroughly terrific haul of items. I really like both of your scarves, as well as the bulky (but thoroughly gorgeous!) glasses case. Charlie is such a beautiful, classic scent. Though it was released in the early 70s, it doesn't smack of that era to me (not that there would be anything wrong with it if it did, of course), and instead has more of an early twentieth century vibe to me.

Thanks for visiting my blog :) I really like Charlie Red, but I'm not sure about Charlie Blue or Silver, they just seem a little too strong for me. I haven't spent a lot of thought on the seventies before as I'm usually attracted to the dior new look era (late forties-fifties?) the twenties and the grunge of the eighties/nineties. I am slowly gaining some appreciation for the sixties though, and think I may slowly find myself enjoying the seventies as well.
