Book Haul: I really shouldn't have, but I did...

I posted on facebook recently that I knew I would have to do an early haul, because I was so excited about the stuff I got in the mail that I just wouldn't be able to wait another week to show you. And, then, we went shopping yesterday (Mum, Dad and I) and I was supposed to be looking for work skirts (Remember This Post ). I got really annoyed at an awful lot of shops about how many multi-coloured skirts they had, how many short skirts or maxi-skirts they had and how little work-wear they had. And, I remembered that my old school skirts which I spent like 5 years in, would be absolutely perfect, except for the fact that they were grey. So, looks like the only option here is going to be getting something made.

After looking through racks and racks of unsuitable clothing I managed to escape to the book section and treat myself to a few titles I had been interested in- Not that I really needed it. I have also decided that while I love shopping and buying stuff, I hate shopping centres. Not only because it is often much cheaper to purchase things online, but because I'm not one for trying to look at something (a CD for example) in an aisle filled with people. The night before I went shopping, I did some online shopping and finally got myself a few books for my kindle.

NON-BOOK-RELATED-PURCHASES/GIFTS:
I did buy a fair few non-bookish things in the last week (or rather that's when they showed up) and I decided  not to share all of it, so where there could have been about three or four pics there will be one.

-The mask (Which I mentioned in This Post) Was purchased from here.
-The Minnie Mouse bookmark was one of a few gifts from Mum. She also gave me a Minnie Mouse key ring for my car keys.
-The owl necklace is something that I bought from here
-The mirror necklace is one of three that I purchased from here
-The Cameo is a brooch, but can also be worn as a necklace. It came from here

REVIEW BOOKS:
FROM SIMON AND SCHUSTER:

-I really liked the other books by this author and have been waiting and waiting and hoping I would get this in the mail. Having said that though, the subject matter is probably a little too close to home for me at the moment so I guess I'm just going to keep on waiting...

FROM NETGALLEY:

'A Shimmer of Angels' by Lisa M Basso

'Nameless' by Lili St Crow
-I haven't read anything by this author before.

PURCHASES:
BOUGHT IN A STORE:

'Frankie Magazine: Issue 52'
-I know it's not a book exactly, but it's still reading material and it is equally exciting.

'Forever' by Judy Blume
-I thought this looked and sounded really cute. I've never read anything by Blume before.

'Rapture' by Lauren Kate
-I still haven't gotten around to reading 'Passion', but 'Rapture (and the Judy Blume book) was only $3.

'Days of Blood and Starlight' by Lani Taylor
-The sequel to 'The Daughter of Smoke and Bone'.

'Between the Lines' by Tammara Webber
-I've seen this author's name splashed around a little here and there, so once again I have not read anything by her and thought I would like to.

'Etiquette and Espionage' by Gail Carriger
-I recently read a good review on this one.

PURCHASED ONLINE:
(Actual books that arrived via post)

'Misguided Angel' by Melissa de la Cruz
-I think it's book 5? I ordered pretty much every book that Melissa de la Cruz has written so expect more of these in future hauls.

'The Little Dictionary of Fashion' by Christian Dior
-It's a cute little book with some interesting (but mostly true) opinions that the designer had on the use of certain fabrics, garments and other fashion related stuff.

'Charmed Season 9, Volume 1' by Ruditus, Abreau
-As most of you know, I looved the show. I even wrote 5 posts about it. And, I thought I'd give a graphic novel a go. Something always has to happen next...

FOR KINDLE:
'Grounding Quinn' by Steph Campbell

'Legend' by Marie Lu
-Seeing as I already have the sequel Prodigy...

'The Fine Art of Truth or Dare' by Melissa Jensen
-I read another great review on another blog, but could not find it to link you to it.

'Epic Fail' by Claire Lazebnik
-A Pride and Prejudice re-telling.

'The Espressologist' by Kristina Springer
-I also read a great review on this one, but I can't remember which blog that was on.

'My Love Lies Bleeding' by Alyxandra Harvey
-I have another book by this author somewhere, but I haven't read it...

'Wondrous Strange' by Lesley Livingston

I ALSO GOT SOME NOVELLAS FOR MY KINDLE:
-'Life Before Legend: Stories of The Criminal' by Marie Lu
-'The Assassin and the Empire' Sarah J. Maas
-'The Assassin and the Underworld' by Sarah J. Maas
-'The Assassin and the Desert' by Sarah J. Maas
-'The Assassin and the Pirate Lord' by Sarah J. Maas
-'Isolation' by Dan Wells

CDS I BOUGHT:
-'The Essential Elvis Presley'
-'The Essential Roy Orbison
-'One Hot Minute' - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
-'Celebity Skin' -Hole

And, I got a Music DVD of Elvis called 'Elvis: The King of Rock and Roll'

I already had an Elvis cd, but it was just a cheapy from a cheap store that did not agree well with Itunes, and I really wanted some Elvis on there.

And, And, And, that's my Haul everybody! As for the whole controversy that started on Book Hauls; I bought most of these. As you can see -If you read the post correctly- I got three review books, and the rest of these where purchased by myself.

What did you get in the mail this week?

Natalie
