Double Review: Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel and Quick Dry Top Coat

 Hi guys,

I don't normally do reviews on Nail Polish because most Nail colours seem to be pretty similar to me, but I thought because I actually had something to say about these that it might be worth doing a review on them. Because these are both by Revlon and I bought both of them from Fashion Addict that I would  review them together. That, and I used them together.

REVLON TOP SPEED NAIL ENAMEL IN 'HEARTS OF GOLD':
This is a glitter nail polish with little flecks of gold glitter and holographic heart confetti. It does come out really nicely on the nails and the photos I have taken simply don't do it justice. The hearts remind me of the Sailor Moon wand I used to have when I was little and they glint all kinds of silver and rainbow in different lights.

I found it a bit difficult to get the hearts out of the nail polish bottle which is why I only ended up with one on each nail. I think this nail polish could have been a lot better if there were more hearts. The hearts also do not bend at all so they lie too flat and don't sit well on the nail because of it. I found that no matter where I put the heart the end of it would be sticking out from my nail. I got a little paranoid about this so I used an extra drop of top coat on each heart to prevent lift off. My mum did not let me do this to her nails though and she ended up picking two of the hearts off. There was a heart indent in the colours underneath, but no bare nail was exposed when the heart came off, which I thought was pretty good.

As far as the "Top Speed" thing? I have no idea. I never trust a glitter polish to dry on it's own and this time is no different. I have had this nail polish on since last Sunday and it has lasted. I don't usually wear them any longer than a week because my nails grow really fast and I start to get a tell-tale gap between my cuticles and nail polish.

REVLON QUICK DRY TOP COAT:
When I first used this I was impressed. It dries super quick. However, the first time I used this I had just used regular pastel orange/peach nail polish and in a couple of days I had weird patches happening (which turned out to be air bubbles underneath the polish) and the nail colour started to chip away. So it's no good for regular nail polish. However, it is really good for super thick nail polish (nail art anyone) or glitter nail polish (It's the only thing I own that will harden up a super gummy cheap glitter polish). By the end of the week you might get a few cracks in your nails, but nothing too noticeable.

*While I really like both of these nail polishes they are not perfect and I do not recommend paying top $ for them. I only paid about 5 or 6 dollars for each of them from Fashion Addict.

^My Valentine's day nails. Sorry it's a little messy. I used Essence 24/7 base coat, Sinful Colours shade #321 Forget Now, Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel in 'Hearts of Gold FX' and Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat.

I'm really glad that you mentioned the top coat works particularly well with glitter polishes, as I've been on the prowl for a reasonably priced one that did just that for ages (I find sparkle polish chips faster than non-sparkle for me most of the time). I'll be adding this to my beauty product shopping list for sure!
