1) DOING OTHER PEOPLE'S HAIR:
I love to get out the hair pins and play hairdresser every now and then. I've always found that I am better at doing other peoples hair (even before I got mine cut short) because I could always do it neater on someone else and I could do the back. Whenever I curled my own hair I used to just cheat and "scrunch" the back. I love doing vintage styles and was very happy that my cousin let me try finger waves in her hair for 'The Great Gatsby' movie premiere. A hairdresser that I know who attended said it looked very good, so I must have done an OK job then !
2) LIPSTICK THAT LASTS/FADES SUBTLY
I love the feeling of putting on a good lipstick and knowing that I am not going to have a horrible lip-line effect happening at the end of the day. I don't mind if it fades, so long as it fades all over and I don't end up with a bright red outline and pale pink lips. So far my lime-crime lipstick is good for the subtle fade. I used to have an Avon lipstick that lasted a long time, but I can't remember what it was called, so I never got it again.
3) ROY ORBISON'S VOICE
I just love the sound of this mans voice. The tone, the notes he hits, the lyrics he sings. His voice takes me to an era that I can only imagine. I'm no expert, I only know a few songs from a compilation album (Something along the lines of 'The Essential' or 'Greatest Hits', but I really like 'Ooby Dooby', 'Blue Angel', 'Crying', 'Only the Lonely' and 'You Got It'.
4) SHOPPING FOR SUNGLASSES
So, as you would have guessed by previous hauls and a post about my obsession with sunglasses, I thought you might already know this. I've got 7 pairs now and some more coming in the mail. It's kind of insane I know. Notice, how a write that I'm obsessed with sunglasses after the bit where I write about how cool Roy is...
5) RECEIVING/READING A MUCH WANTED BOOK IN THE MAIL
For example when I received the 'Indigo Spell' by Richelle Mead I may have hugged it... I was just so excited to find out what would happen next. I get like that with sequels or novels by awesome authors and I presume I might be like this with the new Sarah Addison Allen book when it is released. eep!
That's it for today, obviously they aren't my only favourite things, but I thought it might be something nice to brighten up everyone's day and for you all (my new readers) to find a little bit more about me and my interests. I hope you enjoy reading.

ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful list of loves. I so wish we lived nearby - you could do my hair anytime you wanted! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you completely about longwearing lipstick. I so wish they'd finally invent one that really and truly was kiss-proof (a point my husband has bemoaned on many an occasion!).

Yes and one that could be moisturising as well as lasting would be nice :) My younger cousin has long hair but it's notty as. It would be nice to do someones hair who actually looks after it.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be nice to live near to a few bloggers just to even meet, but most of them live far across the sea...
